Abbeygate College, Cheshire: new-build teaching block
The brief
NWD Architects was tasked with designing a new-build teaching block to house three new classrooms and associated ancillary spaces.
NWD's approach
The location of the school, within an established, attractive village and local conservation area, meant we had to design a building of suitable scale, while respecting the distinctive vernacular. We consulted at some length with the client to ensure that we provided a design concept that reflected the core of the village, whilst including a light touch of modernity.
The outcome
On completion, the building looked timeless and both the client and tenant are delighted with the result.
